U. S. 13 KART -CLUB TRACK
ATTENTION ALL DELAWARE DIRT DIVISIONAL SERIES RACERS:
The Board of Directors and Elected Officers would like to take this opportunity to clear up some confusion about the April 17th Delaware Dirt Divisional Series Race. This race will count towards the 6 Delaware Dirt Divisional Series events. This race will NOT be thrown out and there will be no make-up race scheduled. The October 2nd race is a scheduled “Rain-Out” date. We will not be adding it as a 7th race event.
As for the transfer of points on the National series level, this was discussed at the 2nd Annual Club member meeting, and the question was asked if anyone wished to transfer points to the WKA National series for 2010. All club members in attendance said they would not be transferring points. The Board decided at that time not to spend the money since there was no interest in transferring points to the National level. Our cost to WKA would be $1.00 per entry at each Divisional event. At the April 17th State Race a couple of racers came down from PA assuming we were transferring points. It was explained to them that we had not planned on being a WKA transfer series. Julie Kelly, Secretary of the Club, explained that she would investigate changes with WKA.
On April 20th, there was a Board Meeting where this was discussed, and the Board agreed to accommodate our out of state racers in hopes that they would bring more entries to our events. On April 21st Julie Kelly called Marie at WKA and was told that the points for the April 17th race would not be transferable to the National series. Marie further explained that we could still sign up to be a National transfer series, and that our last 5 races would count and the points would be transferable to the National series. The sign up paperwork was faxed to Julie Kelly on April 22nd. Julie Kelly properly completed the paperwork and faxed it back to WKA the morning of April 23rd. As of April 23rd, 2010, the U.S. 13 Kart Club was recognized by WKA as having a 5 racing event National transfer series. These events are the Delaware Dirt Divisional State Races that are scheduled from 5/1/2010 – 9/4/2010. Unfortunately, the racers from PA will not be receiving the 4 bonus points because we do not have 6 transfer events scheduled. However, they will receive 40 transferable points for attending our series.
Again, this in no way will affect the Delaware Dirt Divisional Series Points and no races will be thrown out or added. Thank you for your time and patience with this matter. We apologize for any misconceptions or any misinformation that may have materialized over this issue. Thanks for your support and participation. If you have any questions please feel free to call any of your Elected Officers and/or Board Members.
Respectfully submitted:
Julie Kelly – Secretary
Ace Adkins – Vice President
