The US 13 Kart Club Track resumes Friday night racing on tonight and on June 8, 2007.  The track is also holding a benefit race that night for Ralph Moore, (Moore’s Powder Coating) and an avid kart club racer.  Moore is presently receiving treatments for cancer and still comes to the track for a bit each race; just not racing is the hard part, for a driver to watch.  Come out and support the night and watch some good kart racing of young to older drivers.  Many drivers get their start in karts.  Check out the web at www.dekarting.net.

Well, the racing season is really just getting ready to go full throttle after such a cold start with April and May’s weather so cool; or let’s hopes it is.  Come see the outlaws on Thursday, and come see the mighty fast URC Sprints and a regular night of action on Saturday, June 2.  For all your Delaware and surrounding tracks race news visit www.redbud69racing.com.  See you at the track!

The U. S. 13 Kart Club Track has had a bit more luck getting started this year.  The first DDDS (Delaware Dirt Divisional Series) was held in March, and both club dates in April were able to hold the events.  This weekend the kart track is closed and will hold the next event on Saturday, May 5, for the second DDDS event.  Gates will open at 7 AM, registration 7-9 AM, practice to start at 9:30 AM.  The next regular club race on Friday nights will be on May 11, 2007.  Gates open 5 PM, racing starts at 7 PM.  Only $5 to enter for each adult and 13 & under free; a rather cheap night of entertainment to see the future racers of Delaware.  Visit the tracks web site at www.dekarting.net or call the tracks hot line at 302-846-2646.

Let’s hope the weather will corporate and let the racing season get under way.  Many of us are jonesin’ for the action of fast cars, karts or drag cars, and all the great fumes that accompany the much loved sport.  For all you Delaware racing news and action visit www.redbud69racing.com or visit the message board powered by Bi-Rite Auto Sales of Seaford, DE.  See you at the track!

U. S. 13 Kart Club Track Awards Champs In

Delaware Dirt Divisional Series & Club; 2007 Schedule Released

U.S. 13 Kart Club & State Banquet for 2006  Pee Wee Smile says it all!

More photos below and all can be viewed at www.dekarting.net

Story & Photos

By Bonnie Nibblett

Delmar, DE…..January 15, 2007.....The U. S. 13 Kart Club Track located on the Delaware Motorsports Complex finished out the 2006 with the Awards Banquet for all the champions.  The track races two divisions.  The regular Friday night club actions were honored; along with the Delaware Dirt Divisional Series (WKA Sanction) State champs were also honored.

The season had record attendance on club nights with at least 100 karts every Friday and the most spectators all season long.  The thing about go-karts is that it is an excellent way for many drivers begin their racing career.  It’s a way for drivers to get use to running on the track, learning to obey the flagman, and signals along with the lights (green, yellow, and red).

Ages of racers can range from the youngest of five years old to infinity, if you can race rather being a ageless maturing racer or new and learning also, you, can give it a shot.  Karting is very prominent in our area, plus its just good family fun.  Karters develop into stronger drivers and ready to take on a new challenge as they grow into better racers.  Support from fans, family, the community all play a large part in the young racers too.

The U. S. 13 Kart Club Track has just released the 2007 schedule.   First practice will start on Sunday, March 18, 2007.  The first DDDS State race will be Saturday, March 31, 2007.  The first club race will be Friday, April 13.  Also new this year three of the DDDS state races will be held at the new Delmarva Motorsports Park. (Former Middleford Speedway) All the arrangements are still being worked out.  The time and other news will follow soon or you can view the tracks web site at www.dekarting.net.   A copy of the schedule to view or print is available.  The tracks hot line is 302-846-2646.  Also, the karts mailing address & email has been changed to:

P. O. Box 954

Georgetown, DE 19947

The DDDS State races have their own guidelines to follow with the WKA rules enforced.  The club follows the guidelines as well, but the two do differ.  The club has pee-wee class and the state does not.  Along with WKA rules the state points system works if a race is canceled due to weather, the drivers still have to come to the track and register, but if they do, they will receive first place points.  This happened a couple times in the 2006 season.  New this coming season will be another opportunity to race with the opening of the Delmarva Motorsports Park.  Karts will be running on Wednesday nights, and under the US 13 Kart Club Track/WKA rules.

A few karters took home their first championships while others claimed another win.  Overall, all are happy to claim bragging rights in being a champ.  Both state and club champs follow.

The DDDS State races top champions in each class were for 2006:

·          Junior I Heavy - Dylan Evans # 80

·          Junior II Lite - Clint Chalabala # 44

·          Junior II Heavy - Clint Chalabala # 44
